First day of the Study Visit in Istanbul in Kadir Has University in the frame of the Erasmus + CBHE Engine Project. After the welcome speech from our host, Meltem Ucal - Faculty of Economics, Administrative and Social Sciences; Center for Energy and Sustainable Development (CESD) and our Engine project coordinator, Alma Afezolli, we were introduced to Kadir Has University Campus. Experiences from other Project under Horizon and Erasmus + programme in Engineering or Renewable Energy and GeoSmart, S-parcs, Good Deeds, Geothermal-DHC, European Energy Poverty ACTION (ENGAGER) followed. The day was finalized with a very interesting visit to the Istanbul Enerji AŞ, biomass power plant project in Silivri Seymen. And although the weather did not seem very promising, the hospitality was amazing with many good practices to note and share in the frame of the project. Special thanks to our partner Kadir Has University and its team, especially Meltem Ucal and Gökhan Kirkil, CESD, for the great organization and very warm welcome. Second day of the Study Visit in Istanbul in Kadir Has University in the frame of the Erasmus + CBHE Engine Project was engaging and interactive: It kicked off with a visit and presentation in the Civil Engineering Department - Energy saving in construction. A Demo in Lab introduced us to the alternative, energy and cost efficiency materials in construction compared to the traditional ones. Visit + Presentation Center for Energy and Sustainable Development (CESD) and Master of Arts in Energy and Sustainable Development. Together we explored experiences from other Projects under Tübitak (The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey) in Engineering or Renewable Energy comparing also the undertaken step, initiatives and incentives toward NETZEB in Turkey and Albania. The day concluded with a round table to discuss issues of WP3 (Syllabus and course development) now part of the curricula of Albanian HEI-s.
